Formerly Hush Hush Lounge
Groups of dressed-down revelers huddle in vinyl booths and banquettes lining the right wall, which is decorated with garage sale-quality landscape paintings. Across a thin walkway, well-worn stools line a simple bar area--the only photo above the mod bartenders shows a man holding his index finger against pursed lips, as if to tell the oft-boisterous crowd "hush." Further back, a DJ usually keeps the modest-sized dance floor crowded with tunes ranging from indie rock to rap. Near the elevated DJ booth and beneath star-shaped light fixtures, is the room's piece de resistance: A wall mural of a mid-century starlight perched atop a shimmering moon. |
